Get ready to enjoy everything that beautiful Barcelona has to offer in those rare free moments you’re not rubbing shoulders with all the bigwigs in mobile!

How to Plan for One of the Biggest Events of the Year

With so many parties and events to count, how do you fit it all in?

With a little effort, ingenuity, and enough coffee, you’ll be able to make the most of every hour at MWC. Whether that means meeting with 110,000+ attendees, hearing about the latest mobile innovations from leaders in the industry, visiting Barcelona’s best sights, or chugging sangria – we’ve got you covered.

If you’re new to the conference, don’t forget the essentials: a warm coat, your snazziest networking outfit/company-branded clothes for the event, comfy walking shoes, Tylenol, cough drops, a phone charger, and a data plan – wifi just doesn’t cut it.

Here’s Your Go-To Schedule for the Mobile World Congress 2018

Sunday, February 25

3:00 pm Of course you pre-registered to the event so you can pick up your badge at the airport.

4:00 pm Check into the hotel, clean yourself up, and make sure you look like a million bucks so you can stand shoulder to shoulder with prospective partners who are actually worth that and more.

6-10:00 pm Meet up with your BTB (Best Travel Buddy) and head over to Mobile Sunday with Tech.eu for some pre-MWC schmoozing, noshing, and networking.

10:30 pm-Lights out Walk towards La Rambla for some late-night entertainment before drinking your weight in sangria. Who cares if it’s a tourist trap with an overpriced menu? You’re a tourist with an expense account– time to embrace it!

Monday, February 26

9-10 am Time to get the show on the road, but not before making your quick annual stop with your BTB to explore the gorgeous Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter). Some highlights: The Cathedral, Medieval architecture, even the sidewalks are glorious.

10:30 am Skipping the morning rush was great for your commute, but don’t let your team know 😉 Strut into the conference, and immediately kvetch to your colleagues about how impossible it was to find a taxi this morning.

11 am-12 pm Memorize smart soundbites from a panel discussion on IoT Security & the Blockchain to impress clients with later.

12:01-1 pm Make sure you’re ready for GDPR with a talk on Client Data Privacy, Security, and GDPR from IBM.

1-2:20 pm Enough slacking. Grab your stack of freshly minted business cards and stop at every booth along the way, trading business cards and contacts for kickass giveaways.

2:30-4 pm Jump on The 5G and Virtualized Network Tour for an interactive look at next-gen networks.

4-5 pm After spotting a prospect who missed your last 40 emails, catch up with him in Oath’s Networking Garden to discuss how they can build their brand with your company.

5:30-6:30 pm Hear from the President of the World Bank and leading telecom policymakers on The Future of the Industry: Transatlantic Digital Policy & Regulation.

7-8 pm Stop over to see the latest IoT innovations at IoT Stars and then grab a post-first day drink at the Smadex & Axonix MWC.

10 pm-12:30 am Jump by Dutch Mobile Community for some late night networking before hopping to AppsFlyer’s Urban Rave.

Tuesday, February 27

9-10:30 am Quickly save a seat for you and your BTB in Hall 4’s keynote on The Foundations of the Digital Economy to see where Ericsson, McAfee, Rakuten, and Red Hat think the industry is going.

10:45 am -12:00 pm Get a jump on those Tuesday morning meetings and let your clients know that 2018 is their year to shine.

12:05-12:25 pm Learn How to Build a Mobile-Always Brand with AI from Baidu’s CTO.

12:25-1 pm Scarf down lunch in the closet of your booth.

4-4:40 pm Can’t get enough of IoT? Enjoy drinks and nosh with IoT thought leaders at the IoT Garden Party.

4:45-5:50 pm Run with your BTB to check out McLaren Formula 1 Driver Fernando Alonso’s keynote in Auditorium 1, Hall 4.

6:30-7:30 pm If you want to hobnob with the best of the best from the start-up nation, head to IMA & WalkMe MWC18 Cocktail Party.

7:30-9 pm Ladies gather! Meet other incredible women at the Women in Mobile MWC event. If you’re a creative lady, you should consider heading straight to Ladies, Wine & Design.

9:15-10 pm Time to meet up with 200+ entrepreneurs at DrinkEntrepreneurs MWC & 4YFN.

10:30 pm-12:30 am Close the night at MoPub’s invite-only party to meet with leading publishers and demand partners.

Wednesday, February 28

9-9:30 am Another early start 🙂 Be a good teammate and help your colleagues set up the booth and meeting rooms for the day. Then let them know you just spotted a big fish by the restroom and make your escape.

9:30 am-1 pm You and your BTB don’t have much time, so choose your favorite Gaudi masterpiece to revisit:  UNESCO World Heritage site Park Guell, Sagrada Família  (don’t even think of it if you haven’t booked in advance), or Casa Batlló. If you’re sick of Gaudi, grab your wallet and go on a shopping spree in one of Barcelona’s 5,000 best shopping areas.

1:30-4 pm Wink at your BTB before heading back to your booth. Regale your colleagues with your multi-hour attempt to sign a huge agency. Then schmooze and network with others like a fiend.

4-6 pm Did you just spot your best client entering the VISA Fintech Meetup? Follow him, catch up and master the latest trends in Fintech while you’re at it.

7-8 pm Mingle with international talent at the #MWC Networking Event by TechTribe.

8 pm-Last Call Hungry? Stop by the QUOBIS tapas party for some wining and dining. Once you’ve had your fill of tapas, grab your BTB for some casual mobile networking at Swedish Beers.

Thursday, March 1

9 am-2 pm Jump right in and put those networ-king/queen skills to work, impressing prospects with your company’s game-changing services.

2:30-6 pm Rendezvous with your BTB and head to the Joan Miró Museum – apparently, they’re a big fan.

6:30-11 pm Enjoy your fill of street eats in Barcelona and top the night off with a concert at the always sensational Palau de la Música.

12 am Give your BTB one last hug and begin the long journey back home.
